5 People Killed in Construction Zone Crash on I-65

Three adults and two children were killed early Friday in a fiery crash on I-65 in Tippecanoe County, Ind., at the SR 43 exit, according to news reports.

According to police, a semi failed to slow for a construction zone and hit a Toyota Yaris traveling in front of it, pushing the Yaris into the ditch and killing the driver. The truck then hit a Honda Pilot before crashing into another semi. Both the second semi and the Pilot caught fire.

A mother and two of her children in the Pilot were killed. The semi driver that allegedly caused the accident was also killed.

All lanes have been reopened. CBS4Indy posted this report.
