The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), has issued a safety recall for Daimler Trucks North America's Freightliner 2018-19 Cascadia models due to a possible problem with the brakes.
On certain Cascadias, brake caliper mounting bolts may not been properly tightened, potentially resulting in the caliper detaching.
If the calipers detach, there would be reduced braking performance, increasing the risk of a crash.
DTNA will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the brake caliper mounting bolts, tightening them as necessary, free of charge.
The recall is expected to begin August 13, 2018. Owners may contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-547-0712. DTNA's number for this recall is FL-775.
