More than $100,000 worth of construction equipment, including a backhoe loader stolen in Missouri in 2006, was recovered Tuesday at Franklin’s new sewer system construction site.

The Morgan County Sheriff’s Department seized a 420D Caterpillar backhoe loader, valued at $65,000, and a white Bobcat backhoe, valued between $35,000 and $40,000, Detective Lt. Tab Turke said. The Bobcat backhoe is missing its vehicle identification number, but also is believed to have been stolen.

The machinery was among the fleet of equipment being used by C.E. Clark & Son Construction, based in Hettick, which is serving as the contractor for the project.
