The first of three towers on the Ohio River for the new Interstate 65 bridge between downtown Louisville, Ky. and Jeffersonville, Ind. is now complete. The tower is located near the Indiana Shoreline and is part of the larger $2.3 billion project bridges project.
One contractor of the project ascended the 230-ft-structure and captured aerial footage of the project.
Each worker attaches about 60 lb worth of safety equipment before working on the tower. So far, no workers have fallen or died during construction, reports The Courier-Journal.
Over the coming months, workers will continue to install steel beams and stay cables to support the concrete bridge deck.
