Crews poured approximately one million gallons of concrete over a 10-hour period on the approach of the Louisville, Ky., downtown bridge, reports the Courier Journal through photos and video

That converts to just under 5,000 cubic yards of material.

There are a total of nine separate deck pours that will occur at night to avoid daytime heat exposure. All the pours are expected to be completed by June, with the bridge projected to be open for traffic in January 2016.
