Nathaniel spends much time as product manager in the field listening to customer input on their struggles and their equipment needs, specifically for the excavator lineup to which he is assigned. This insight, he says, enables him to work with engineering to improve existing or to develop new products.

“‘Find a way to say yes’ is something you’ll often hear Nathaniel Waldschmidt say in the face of a challenge,” said Jordanne Waldschmidt, chief editor, Fusable, in her nomination of Nathaniel. “And those challenges are no match for his infectiously positive attitude, strong interpersonal relationships, deep technical understanding, and drive to serve customers.”

Education: B.S., Wisconsin Lutheran College.

Professional accomplishments: Future Leaders Scholarship, Association of Equipment Manufacturers; launch of the Case C Series motor grader, and the launch of the Komatsu PC130LC-11 excavator.

Off the clock: Enjoying time at his cabin in northern Wisconsin, playing guitar and piano, trail riding on his UTV.

Favorite musicians: Sturgill Simpson, Cody Jinks, Whitey Morgan.

Extracurricular: Church youth group leader, and volunteering at the One Step at a Time children’s cancer camp.
