Zero- and Short-Tail-Swing Excavators Have Improved Lift Capacities

Sept. 28, 2010

Gehl's new mid-size excavators (5-, 6-, 7- and 8-metric-ton classes) include the zero-tail-swing 503Z and 753Z; and Models 503Z and 603, which are short-tail-swing models. The excavators have improved lift capacities and breakout force even as they were designed dimensionally smaller and more compact. Auto-2-Speed transmission automatically changes the unit from transport to operation modes without operator input. Cabs are larger than previous models, offering better visibility, ergonomics and comfort. Plus, there is 30-percent more cooling capacity in all A/C units. Estimated list prices: $59,700 to $93,000.
