Wacker RT 56-SC, RT 82-SC trench rollers

Sept. 28, 2010

Wacker's new RT 56-SC and RT 82-SC trench rollers ("SC" for Smart Control) feature an infrared, line-of-sight control system. The operator stands out of the trench and uses a dual-joystick remote-controller to steer these articulated machines, and to make forward/reverse shifts. Sensing eyes at the front and rear will stop the machine and shut off its vibration system if the operator approaches closer than 5 feet. The new models use a 20-hp, liquid-cooled engine with an electronic control module that monitors critical functions.
