Wacker Neuson's new RT 56-SC-2 and RT 82-SC-2 are now equipped with a new infrared remote control and Engine Control Module (ECM). The new Smart Combi (SC) joystick control allows multiple rollers to operate on the same job without interference from another unit.

Wacker Neuson's new RT 56-SC-2 and RT 82-SC-2 are now equipped with a new infrared remote control and Engine Control Module (ECM). The new Smart Combi (SC) joystick control allows multiple rollers to operate on the same job without interference from another unit. Other new features on the SC control include increased battery lifetime, longer range and broader beam angle, exchangeable joysticks, and simpler user interface. The infrared SC control continues to use line-of-sight control for added safety; should the operator come within three feet of the roller front or rear-sensing eye with the control box, the unit will stop moving.

In the re-engineered ECM, a new circuit board enhances performance during rugged compaction applications. The transparent cover and a three-segment display provide easy troubleshooting. The ECM will also store diagnostics and service history for the unit's lifetime.

The RT series is designed for the compaction of sub-bases for foundations, roads and parking lots. Sheepsfoot drums and vibration frequency have been selected for optimum compaction of cohesive soils. The drums protrude past the frame, making these units ideally suited for working in trenches and excavations, pipeline and backfill.
