Upgrades include 173-horsepower Tier 4-Interim Volvo engines that work in harmony with intelligent, advanced hydraulics and well-matched components, Volvo says. A new ECO mode and an automatic idling and shutdown system aid fuel efficiency. Excavators come with a mono boom and a two-piece boom, a high-torque swing motor, and optional increased counterweights. Volvo CareTrack telematics system is standard.

Models R140W and R210W wheeled excavators have been upgraded to 9A Series with Cummins QSB6.7 engines that are certified for Tier 4-Interim.
