Volvo BL60B, BL70B Backhoe Loaders

Oct. 13, 2011

Redesigned BL60B and BL70B Volvo backhoe loaders are 83- and 98-horsepower machines, respectively, with average operating weights of 17,500 and 19,500 pounds. The one-piece chassis, loader arm and excavator boom are made from high-quality steel, Volvo says, and are robotically welded. The box-welded loader arms are reinforced with a cross tube, and the excavator boom uses a closed box-welded design that reduces components and welds. The two floor-mounted levers have been ergonomically designed, the cab is 15 percent more spacious, and window glass area has been increased 30 percent. Both units have Volvo’s D5D four-cylinder 4.8-liter diesel, which is Tier 3 certified. Flow-sharing hydraulics enable multifunctioning on both working ends, and the BL70B has load-sensing hydraulics.
