Vision series of asphalt pavers from Vogele includes two tracked machines and two wheeled models, one each at 8- and 10-foot widths. The series was designed around forward and all-around visibility, allowing the operator to see the sides, the hopper and the conveyors in the back. Sloped design aids that visibility, but swing-out operator stations on both sides and sliding control console enables the operator to place himself where he can best see. Other improvements include a display panel for monitoring fluid levels and inspection points, and a hydraulic front apron is available as an option. Apron prevents forward spillage of the mix, which elimates much shoveling in front of the paver. Estimated list price: $325,000 to $400,000.

Two new compact asphalt pavers have been introduced by Vogele: the Super 1300-2 tracked and Super 1303-2 wheeled. Powered by a 100-horsepower Deutz engine, the pavers have an AB 340 extending screed.
The T880’s cab is 8 inches wider and the hood’s sculpted lines are smoother than what have been seen for 27 years on T800 trucks, like those at right. New complex-reflector headlamps are flush with fenders and use inexpensive halogen bulbs. As with all T-series Kenworths, the 880 has a setback steer axle.
