Turner Awarded LAUSD Contracts

Los Angeles, CA— Turner Construction Company was awarded $230 million of contracts by the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) to serve as the general contractor for three major new school construction projects.

Los Angeles, CA— Turner Construction Company was awarded $230 million of contracts by the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) to serve as the general contractor for three major new school construction projects.

Turner will perform general contracting services for the Sara Coughlin Elementary School in Pacoima, CA. The scope of work includes an addition to the existing school, which was built by Turner Construction Company. Turner will construct a one-story kindergarten building, multipurpose building, a two-story facility for classroom space, and expand and renovate the kitchen area, library and media lab. Completion is scheduled for September 2009.

Turner is serving as the general contractor for the LAUSD Valley Region High School No. 5 in San Fernando, CA, which is scheduled for completion in September 2010. The scope of work includes buildings to house classrooms, administration space, food service facilities, and a gymnasium. Site work includes athletic fields and bleachers.

Turner is also serving as the general contractor for the LAUSD Central Region High School No. 13 in Los Angeles, CA. Scheduled for completion in December 2010, the scope of work includes a three-story classroom building, administration space, a performing arts building, library, cafeteria, gymnasium and athletic fields.

In addition, Turner recently substantially completed the LAUSD East Valley High School 1A project in Sun Valley, CA, 10 weeks ahead of schedule and three months before the start of the new school year.
