Trimble's new construction grade-control simulator allows accelerated and cost-effective training of dozer operators, the company says. The simulator enables SITECH Technology dealers to deliver training on the Trimble GCS900 grade-control system in a safe and realistic environment that resembles a dozer cab—without using valuable machine time and fuel on the construction site.
The simulator features fully interactive joysticks, motion platform, decelerator, and Trimble CB460 control box. Dozer operators of all experience levels can now become grade control-certified with the support and instruction from the company’s worldwide network of SITECH Technology dealers, Trimble says.
Developed in conjunction with John Deere Construction & Forestry, the simulator helps operators learn to read 3D design models and interact with the CB460 control box. Through realistic virtual-site graphics, says Trimble, users can experience jobsite hazards, safety situations, and control of the dozer blade. The training software evaluates operator performance and provides feedback to strengthen the learning process.
