Top 100: PowerSteer System Pushes 100% Torque Through Turns

Sept. 28, 2010

Case extended its crawler dozer lineup into the heavy range with the 180-net-hp 1850K, and filling the gap between its existing line and the new big boy with the 1650K at 140 net horsepower. Case's hydrostatic PowerSteer system delivers 100 percent of the Cummins engines' torque to either track. When the operator directs one track to slow, the other track speeds up by the same amount. The machine turns with continuous, full engine power delivered to the ground. Estimated price: $186,000 to $207,000.
