Terex TA400 Generation 9 articulated truck has a 444-horsepower Scania DC13 diesel that is Tier 4-Interim compliant. Maximum payload is 41.0 tons, and heaped capacity is 30.3 cubic yards. Engine torque at 1,350 rpm is 1,548 ft.-lb., and it is paired with a fully automatic Allison transmission. Dual retarder systems, a transmission retarder and an exhaust brake, give operators control in loaded downhill hauls, the company says. Truck has permanent all-wheel-drive (6 x 6) driveline and equalizing rear suspension. The cab has reduced interior noise levels, improved air conditioning, and standard rear-view camera.
