Terex FD4000 Mixer

March 30, 2011

Terex says its FD4000 front-discharge mixer is the first powered by the new Detroit Diesel/MTU Series 1300 engine, which offers three power package options: 350 horsepower at 1,350 foot-pounds torque; 380 horsepower at 1,450 foot-pounds torque; or 450 horespower at 1,550 foot-pounds. The four-axle mixer features an 11-cubic-yard drum with a 46-inch discharge opening. The redesigned engine compartment allows the aftertreatment system—DPF, SCR and decomposition chamber—to be secured to the truck frame to eliminate vibration transfer from the engine.
