Surestrike Hammers

Sept. 28, 2010

Surestrike builds four hammers, which range in operating weight from 6,899 to 24,200 pounds, and in single-blow impact energy from 19,500 to 75,000 foot-pounds. These "mechanical" hammers use a hydraulic cylinder that raises an internal impact weight, which then freefalls from the top of the hammer housing onto a striker pin. According to Surestrike, each hammer can deliver up to 18 blows per minute. Among hammer benefits, says the company, are simple design (no accumulators, nitrogen charges, bushings, sleeves or other wear parts) and, consequently, low operating costs.
