Straightline 3550

Sept. 28, 2010

The Straightline HDD range includes three models, the largest of which is the 3550. This machine features 35,000 pounds of thrust/pullback force and a rotational-torque rating of 5,500 pounds-feet that can be sustained to speeds of 120 rpm. Rotational force is provided by a hydraulic vane motor which, says the company, "delivers unmatched start-up torque and efficiency." A 155-hp John Deere engine drives the 3550, and the machine holds 500 feet of drill pipe onboard and incorporates heavy-duty open-top wrenches.
