Four telehandlers comprise the TH series, which replaces the VR series: SJ643 TH, SJ843 TH, SJ1044 TH, and SJ1056 TH. The last two digits of the model number represent the maximum lift height in feet, and the number in front indicates maximum capacity in thousands of pounds. In addition to having Tier 4-Final engines, the series has simpler rear axle stabilization, hydraulics systems, outriggers, controls, engine servicing, and electronics, the company says.
The telehandlers employ 74-horsepower Deutz engines, which do not require a DPF. The SJ643 TH and SJ 843 TH use a TCD 2.9L engine that produces 221 lb.-ft. or torque and 18,000 pounds of tractive effort; the SJ1044 TH and SJ1056 employ the TCD 3.6L engine with 287 lb.-ft. of torque and 20,000 pounds of tractive effort. Improved gearing and high-efficiency hydraulics were also engineered into the new models. An optional 107-horsepower engine, which uses SCR technology, is available on the SJ1044 TH and SJ1056 TH.
