The Ram 1500 has been named the 2013 North American Truck/Utility of the Year at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

The award is given by a group of 49 automotive journalists from the United States and Canada and is financed solely from jurors' dues. The group initially considers all models that are brand new, or substantially redesigned, for the year. This is the second honor for the Ram 1500, according to the Cars Blog at Bankrate.com; its first win was in 1994.
