Largest in the tower crane line, Potain MD 560 B has a 550 tonne-meter rating and is available in 25- or 40-ton versions. Design innovations allow easier transportation and crane erection. Platforms on the counterjib are the same as those on the MD 485 B, and the crane has improved tie bars. When working with an 80-meter jib, the 25-ton crane lifts 5.4 tons at the jib end; the 40-ton crane with a 70-meter jib can lift 7.5 tons at the jib end.
Potain's Igo range of self-erecting tower cranes are electrically powered, bottom-slewing models that can use either jobsite power or power from a portable generator. The cranes are designed to self-erect by employing a system that includes a mast-mounted hydraulic cylinder (activated via an electrically powered hydraulic pump), jib cylinders and a mast and jib pendants.
