The Caterpillar CB-534D and CB-534D XW dual-drum, vibratory asphalt rollers offer a range of new features, including automatic speed control with impact-spacing indicator, new operator's station, five amplitude settings and serviceability enhancements. Drum width is 67 inches for the standard model and 79 inches for the XW version. Cat's optional Versa Vibe system allows combining two frequency settings (2,520 and 3,800 vpm) with two manually selected amplitude settings, yielding, in effect, four different amplitudes and four different force settings. It gives the machines the ability to work on all types of mixes and in all phases of the compaction process. Estimated list prices: $149,000 to $152,000.
