Beginning summer of 2009, Morbark’s Model 3800 and 4600XL horizontal grinder will be able to produce chips in addition to mulch thanks to the company’s new Quick-Conversion Kit. The 3800 and 4600XL grinders can be converted to grind chips in less than four hours, according to Morbark, as the conversion requires neither a crane nor the removal of the entire hammermill. Chips produced are between 5/8 to 3/4 inches depending on the feed rates.
Originally released in 2008, the Model 40/36 biomass chipper is now available in a track configuration to allow for greater mobility in the field and forest.
Morbark has fitted its Beever M20R drum chipper with a hydraulic folding in-feed deck with more than two tons of hydraulic pulling force for more efficient loading to suit the needs of an entry level biomass chipping operation.
