In what it is describing as the first commercially-available compressed natural gas (CNG) concrete mixer, McNeilus Truck and Manufacturing will offer a choice of Bridgemaster and standard versions on either a Kenworth W900 or T800 chassis. Meeting EPA 2010 heavy-duty engine emission standards for nitrogen oxides and particulate matter, the CNG-powered concrete mixers will be fitted with a six-cylinder, 8.9-liter Cummins ISL G engines developed by Cummins Westport of Canada. CNG platforms for other manufacturer's chassis are pending, says McNeilus.
The Bridge Maxx and Pro Series concrete mixers have redesigned front and rear pedestals that weigh less and increase the mixer’s load capacity.
Next-generation mixer drum has productivity improvements to allow it to carry additional payload.
