Eleven percent of materials-producer Giants had a big surprise in 2003. They had predicted their work volume would hold steady or drop last year, but actually saw volume increase. Fifty-one percent expected work volume to increase this year, which nearly equals the enthusiasm this segment displayed in 2000.
