Massachusetts Report Reveals $13 Billion Transportation Funding Plan

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation released a 10-year plan that reveals the state needs $1.02 billion annually to maintain and upgrade its existing transportation system.

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation released a 10-year plan that reveals the state needs $1.02 billion annually to maintain and upgrade its existing transportation system, according to MassLive.com

The plan, which requires an additional $13 million over the next 10 years, would more than double the existing transportation budget of $12 million.

Gov. Deval Patrick will release a proposal on Wednesday, Jan. 16 regarding how the state should raise the additional funds.
