Tutor Perini Corp., a major civil and building contractor in California, signed a letter of intent to buy Lunda Construction Company, a major civil and building contractor in Black River Falls, Wis. Lunda will continue to operate under the same name with Larry Lunda remaining as president and CEO. Tutor Perini said Lunda is one of the most successful civil contractors in the country and represents Tutor Perini’s expansion into the Midwest with complementary projects. The expected purchase price is $153.5 million. Lunda builds bridges, railroads, dams and other civil structures in 30 states with three operating divisions in six offices in Wisconsin and Minnesota.
