Komatsu America WB156-5 and WB156PS-5 backhoe-loaders have been upgraded with Tier 2 engines. The 15-foot backhoes have operating weights between 16,530 and 18,780 pounds with loader bucket options up to 1.5 cubic yards. A Komatsu 95-hp diesel is turbocharged, and is coupled with a 4-speed synchro-shuttle transmission. WB156PS-5 has PowerShift transmission. The unit has HydrauMind load-sensing closed-center hydraulic system. Operator stations come either open with ROPS canopy or with enclosed dual entry cab. Cab provides 360-degree visibility with curved shape, and one-piece, floor-to-ceiling rear-opening window provides backhoe visibility.
