Each equipped with a 93-horsepower Tier-3-certified engine, the new John Deere 120D conventional and 135D reduced-tail-swing hydraulic excavators put that power to use with “pinpoint metering” via the Powerwise III engine and hydraulic management system. A power recirculation system delivers efficient flow to the boom and arm, speeding multi-function operation and cycle times. Three modes can be selected to match engine rpm to operating conditions and application. The new “E” mode for light-duty work reduces fuel consumption without sacrificing productivity, and the high-power “H/P” mode increases engine rpm to boost horsepower for working through tough spots. Engine rpm automatically returns to normal mode once the resistance is overcome.
