Isuzu has redesigned its 2008-model Class 3, 4 and 5 N series low-cab-forward trucks with a roomier and better-trimmed cab and a cleaner-burning diesel to meet EPA '07 emissions limits. The steel cab has new mounts that filter out vibration; doors about 4 inches wider for easy entry and exit; new gauges and dashboard; large map pockets in doors and behind-seat storage boxes; and standard power windows and door locks. The 5.2-liter 4-cylinder diesel uses exhaust-gas recirculation, advanced fuel injection and exhaust aftertreatment to comply with federal and state emissions laws. Six-speed manual and automatic transmissions are available. The formerly diesel-only 4-door crewcab becomes available with a 6-liter General Motors gasoline engine and a 4-speed Hydra-matic transmission later this year. The LCFs are also sold as Chevrolet and GMC models.
