Though down some 20 percent from what had been planned for the next six years, the Illinois Department of Transportation has released a six-year, $9.2 billion program for highway and bridge projects.

The document, titled "Transforming Transportation for Tomorrow," calls for repair of 2,300 miles of road and 500 bridges between 2013 and 2018, according to the Chicago Tribune.
