Caterpillar recently introduced its 797B mining truck, which has a 380-ton rated payload. Unless you see one of those massive mining trucks in person, it's hard to visualize how huge that truck really is. Did you know that every active player in the NFL (600,000 pounds) and MLB (152,000 pounds) along with a few lucky fans could fit in the bed of a 797B? The truck also occupies the same parking space as 11 Ford Excursion SUVs. And its volume is equivalent to 44 Excursions. If that isn't enough, one of the monster Michelin tires on the 797B uses as much rubber as 500 car tires. Plus, if you stacked 112 of the tires on top of each other, they would reach the top of the Empire State Building.
