All-new generation of GX and iGX series of general-purpose engines were introduced by Honda Engines at World of Concrete. GX line combines increased power with greater fuel economy in the same envelope, whhile reducing emissions and noise. GX240, GX270, GX340 and GX390 models are overhead valve horizontal shaft engines. iGX series is exanding with an all-new iGX340 and iGX390 engine. The series incorporates an electronic self-tuning regulator governor. GX engines have 6 percent more power than previous models, noise has been reduced by up to 5 decibels, fuel efficiency has been boosted by 12 percent.
Electronic 4.4 liter, 4-cylinder 1104D-E44 engine meets Tier 3 equivalent emission standards and will be available in two versions; the 1104D-E44T is a turbocharged unit offering power ratings of 80.4 horsepower up to 99.9 horsepower, while the1104D-E44TA is a turbocharged aftercooled model that tops out at 142.1 horsepower at 2,200 rpm.
The 85- to 140-horsepower PowerTech PWL 4.5L engine, which will meet Tier 4-Final regulations without a DPF, complements the John Deere lineup of Tier 4-Final off-highway diesel engines rated from 48 horsepower to 600 horsepower, announced earlier.
