Hitachi’s Zaxis 850LC-3 pairs a 532-horsepower Tier-3-certified Isuzu engine with Hitachi’s HIOS III hydraulic system to develop increased engine output as well as bucket and arm digging forces. Operators of the 185,120-pound excavator can tailor performance to the job by selecting one of three power modes: Economy, Power, or High Power. The Zaxis 850LC-3 comes standard with a 14-foot 5-inch arm, 29,321 pounds of counterweight, and 36-inch double-grouser shoes. The HIOS III hydraulics use arm and bucket regenerative systems to boost front-attachment speed. The CRES II cab sports a wider, more comfortable seatback, more foot room, and 47-percent more glass on the right-side window compared to its predecessor.
