Highway Construction Falls in June

Highway construction totaled $4.2 billion in June, down 11 percent from the June 2013 total, according to an American Road and Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA) analysis of federal data.

Highway construction totaled $4.2 billion in June 2014, down 11 percent from the June 2013 total, according to an American Road and Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA) analysis of federal data. Contractors have performed $17.8 billion in pavement work in the first six months of 2014, compared with $17.4 billion in the same period of 2013.

Bridge construction rose 3 percent from June 2013, to $3 billion, ARTBA says.
