According to FTG Fuel System Products, the new 777R Series fuel filter/water separator/heater is a “system” that removes contaminants from fuel and adds heat via a three-stage process.
An initial turbine centrifuge spins off larger solids and water droplets, which fall to the bottom of the see-through collection bowl with a self-venting drain. Next, FTG’s proprietary Aquabloc II cartridge elements, which repel water, remove contaminants as small as 2 microns. Engine coolant, return fuel, or an optional 12-volt DC heater is then used for thermostatically controlled heating of the fuel. A see-through dome allows assessment of cartridge element condition.
