Daniel is mechanical supervisor for Lane Construction Corp. He had been with Chicago earthmover T.J. Lambrecht, which had one of the nation’s largest fleets of scrapers and ADTs, and moved to Lane when Lambrecht closed in 2013. He supervises fleet and is site manager for Lane’s Illinois office.

“Dan treats his folks as he wishes to be treated: with respect and trust. He makes Lane look good,” says Roland Shuffleburg, CEM, Lane’s equipment manager. “More importantly he makes our industry look good. Dan has what our industry needs the most: the ability to retain, train and maintain his workforce.”

Certifications: OSHA Hazardous Waste Operations & Emergency Response Certification.

Professional accomplishments: I was part of a team that made GPS grade control integrate with the first electo-hydraulic controlled dozers. I have the opportunity to work often with OEMs in the research and development of towed scrapers. I wouldn’t be where I am without the people I have had the pleasure to work with, as well as work for.

Off the clock: Flying single-engine airplanes such as the RV-8, L-19 Bird Dog, and Citabria. My favorite book is “R.G. LeTourneau: Mover of Men and Mountains,” and I also like listening to audio books while I'm driving.

Extracurricular: I joined our local volunteer fire department as a cadet in 1992. I’ve been a lieutenant, captain, and recently became an assistant chief. I’ve served as a member of the village Zoning Board.
