 Crawler Dozers

Crawler dozers are powerful tracked machines that use a variety of front mounted blades to move material. Large dozers often do pioneering work, such as moving dirt in preparation for new roadways or removing overburden in mining applications. Smaller machines often are used as grading tractors, sometimes using automated grade controls to precisely establish complex contours.

The latest Cat D6N dozer features greater ease of operation, a 10 to 15 percent boost in fuel efficiency, and an increase of up to 10 percent in productivity compared to the previous model, according to the company.

The D61-24 crawler dozer has a quick-shift, three-speed mode and a variable, 20-speed customizable transmission mode.

The D65Pxi-18 crawler dozer incorporates Komatsu’s intelligent machine control technology and a Tier 4-Final, 217-horsepower SAS6D114E-6 engine.

Komatsu’s 264-horsepower D85-18 crawler dozer, aimed at large construction operations and small mining customers, features a Komatsu SAA6D125E-7 variable geometry, turbocharged and aftercooled Tier 4-Final-certified engine that the company says burns up to 5 percent less fuel.

The D155AXi-8 is another of the company’s intelligent machine control dozers that allows automated operation.
