A crane carrying a portion of the roof for a World Cup soccer stadium in São Paulo, Brazil collapsed Wednesday, killing two construction workers. According to the Los Angeles Times, the wet ground beneath the crane at the Arena Corinthians site gave way, causing the machinery to fall onto the stadium.

The Nov. 27 incident was at least the fourth in a series of fatal incidents at World Cup sites since June 2012, the report says.

The Wall Street Journal reports that construction on the stadium has been partially halted, and Brazil's labor ministry has impounded nine pieces of construction equipment for inspection and testing.
