The 50-ton Manitex 5096S boom truck is what Veri-Tek, owner of the Manitex brand, calls “the first 50 ton boom truck available on a commercially available chassis.” The boom has a base rating of 50 tons at a six-foot radius, exceeding maximum base ratings of currently produced conventional boom trucks by 25 percent. Maximum lifting height is 152 feet. The 5096S is available with an optional auxiliary winch, an offset jib, and an air-conditioned cab.

Outriggers are controlled by a radio remote, allowing the operator to walk around the crane and properly level it.
