College District Awards Construction Contracts

Los Angeles, Calif.— The Los Angeles Community College District, one of the largest community college districts in the country, announced this week its awarding to local businesses some $2.1 million in construction contracts for construction and upgrade projects at four of its nine colleges. Each contract is the result of formal competitive bidding and will be funded by the Proposition A/AA Bond program, the $2.2-billion bond measures:

Los Angeles Valley College: $1,966,370 for new concession stand and restroom facility at the college's current athletic Field House building.

Los Angeles Southwest College: $84,000 for demolition and removal of the Child Development Center bungalows on campus.

Los Angeles Mission College: $69,860 for hazmat removal.

Los Angeles City College: $4,858 to relocate surplus portable classroom buildings.
