The Chicago Sun-Times is reporting that Chicago-based Kenny Construction, famous in the city for stemming the tide of the 1992 "Loop flood" that saw downtown buildings flooded, is on the block and may be purchased by a California firm.

A source told the newspaper that the Kenny firm could be sold in a matter of weeks to Granite Construction Co., based in Watsonville, Calif. Granite is a publicly traded firm with large jobs on the East and West coasts and annual revenue of about $900 million. Kenny’s annual revenue has been reported to be more than $600 million.
