Caterpillar Upgrades 992K Wheel Loader

The Cat 992K wheel loader matches up with the Cat 775 and Cat 777 haul trucks with a bucket capacity ranging from 14 to 16 cubic yards. Standard lift payload is 24 tons; high-lift is 21 tons.

The 801-horsepower loader uses a Cat C32 ACERT engine can be configured for Tier 4-Final or Tier 2 regulations.

The On-Demand Throttle automatically manages engine speed, which the company says has helped the 992K achieve up to 21 percent reduction in fuel consumption compared to its predecessor.

The loader has Cat Production Measurement payload weight measuring system that helps operators efficiently load haul trucks to capacity. Loaders are fire-suppression ready, and incorporates fall protection tie-offs for use by service technicians. Pump efficiency monitoring improves hydraulic system responsiveness, and fluid filtration has been improved.
