Caterpillar 584 ForwarderA new forwarder product offering from Caterpillar Forest Products, the 584 and 584HD models have 18- and 20-metric-ton capacities, respectively. Both models come in an eight-wheel-drive configuration; the 584 has a six-wheel-drive option. A hydrostatic propel system provides maximum power on grade through a wide engine rpm and ground speed range. The forwarders are powered by Cat C7 ACERT engines delivering about 275 gross horsepower at 1,800 rpm. The lug curve of the engine provides "excellent" torque in the 1,400-1,600 rpm range for increased fuel efficiency, says Caterpillar.

Recent engineering enhancements to the Tier 4-Final Cat M Series small wheel loaders (926M, 930M, and 938M), as well as the K Series models (924K, 930K, 938K), include a new secondary display module option that improves operator interface and navigation, and makes available a host of special payload management and service options.

Cat Grade Control 3D is now available on the D3K2, D4K2, and D5K2 crawler dozers.
