June 21, 2013

Fuel savings of up to 9.2 percent and 17.5 percent, respectively, result from Tier 4-Interim upgrades in the Case CX145C SR and CX235C SR minimum-swing-radius excavators when compared to their predecessor B versions. The engines deliver 100 and 160 net horsepower, respectively, with CEGR technology. The Case Intelligent Hydraulic System manages the engine and hydraulics, which gives the CX145C SR 4-percent faster cycle times and 9-percent more lift capacity, Case says. Cycle time in the CX235C SR is 7 percent faster, and lift capacity is 15 percent greater. Three power modes are available—speed priority, heavy duty, and automatic—and Automatic Power Boost provides extra power. Cab improvements include 6 percent more space and 28 percent more airflow. Serviceability was increased 14.8 percent and 12 percent, respectively, as measured by the SAE maintainability index.
