Bobcat E20 Zero Tail Swing Excavator

Oct. 2, 2014

Bobcat E20 mini excavator replaces the 324 model. The 13.9-horsepower, Tier 4-compliant unit has maximum dig depth of 8 feet 6 inches, maximum reach of 14 feet, and a dump height of 8 feet 8 inches.

The Bobcat E20 is a zero tail swing model, where the rear of the house stays within the width of the tracks through full rotation. Users can hydraulically retract the undercarriage to 39 inches to travel through gates or between homes, then expand to 54 inches for a wider footprint. The undercarriage on the mini excavator is 5.5 inches longer than the 324 excavator it replaces. Boom swing control has been moved to the joystick, freeing up floor space for more foot room.

An auto-shift travel function provides operators with automatic high-and-low range shifting. An integrated slew brake is a new feature on the Bobcat E20 excavator, which eliminates the need for an operator to engage the slew brake when transporting a machine.

The hydraulic cylinder is mounted on top of the boom to prevent contact with the trench, bucket or nearby obstacles.

Smart diagnostic features are available on the Bobcat E20. Automatic shutdown tracks engine coolant temperature, engine oil pressure, hydraulic oil temperature, and other functions. The system prevents catastrophic engine failure and shuts the machine down if necessary, lessening the chance of damage to the engine or hydraulic components.

On-board diagnostics allow users to efficiently troubleshoot problems in the field or prevent them before they occur.
