Tap $30 Million Available to Clean Up Off-Road Diesels in Southern California

California's South Coast Air Quality Management District is soliciting clean-air projects to provide funding assistance to fleets for purchasing low-emission heavy-duty engine technologies for in-use, off-road diesel vehicles. Five upcoming workshops will explain how to apply to get some of the $30 million available in 2010 through the “Surplus Off-road Opt-in for NOx” (SOON) program to those who operate off-road diesel vehicles in Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Riverside, or Orange Counties.

A Program Announcement describes which fleets and technologies qualify for the funding, and how to submit proposals for the second year's allocation.
