Deadline for National Clean Diesel Grants December 8

November 24, 2009

The US Environmental Protection Agency will answer questions about applying for its National Clean Diesel Funding Assistance if they are emailed to Cleandiesel@epa.gov by Friday, November 27, 2009 at 5 p.m. EST. Anwers will be posted by December 2 in a FAQ document at www.epa.gov/otaq/diesel/prgnational.htm.

The current $64-million round of EPA's National Clean Diesel Funding Assistance Program, Clean Diesel Emerging Technology Funding Assistance Program, and the SmartWay Clean Diesel Finance Program Requests for Proposals will close on Tuesday, December 8, 2009, at 4 p.m. EST.

The National Clean Diesel Emissions Reduction Program, sometimes referred to as "DERA," is designed to promote the use of diesel emission reduction strategies. Its funding assistance program awards millions of dollars annually to diesel-equipment owners as incentives to repower, rebuild and retrofit older diesel engines with technologies that will substantially reduce their contribution to air pollution.
