CARB Verifies Johnson Matthey's ACCRT for On-Road

The California Air Resources Board (CARB) verified Johnson Matthey's Advanced Catalyzed Continuously Regenerating Technology (ACCRT) -- an exhaust-retrofit device -- for select 2002 through 2006 model-year heavy-duty diesel engines used in on-road applications. The ACCRT system reduces diesel-particulate emissions by at least 85 percent and is designated a Level 3 Plus system. The primary components of the ACCRT include a diesel oxidation catalyst, a catalyzed diesel particulate filter, a diesel fuel injection system, a nitrogen dioxide decomposition catalyst, and a back pressure monitor. Specific engine families and conditions for which the ACCRT system has been approved may be found in the Executive Order that will be posted within 10 days on the CARB website at:
